How Many Health Insurance Plans Can You Have?

Even with two health insurance plans, you must pay applicable deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments when you access healthcare services. Combined coverage does not exceed 100% of healthcare costs.

Does Health Insurance Max Out? 

Health insurance does not max out. There is no set lifetime or annual dollar limit on what can be spent on essential health benefits for your care. Plans can put a dollar limit annually and lifetime for spending on health care services that are not considered essential health benefits. Essential health benefits include doctors’ services, inpatient and outpatient hospital care, prescription drug coverage, pregnancy and childbirth and mental health services.
